Orthriophis taeniurus taeniurus previously known as Elaphe t. taeniura is a different subspecies to the Taiwan ratsnake or Taiwan Beauty. It lives in the eastern part of China, and be found as high as Beijing. O. t. taeniurus is smaller than the common form and have a adult size at 130-160 cm. Maximum size is 180 cm.  It is not so common in captivity, but is kept like E. t. friesi.  We had and bred this species for years.
